Captain’s Log. Part 5. Game Developers’ Log.

The Wall…

Today we hit a wall… We ran out of creativity, but more on that in a moment… The last element of work on the game was the Great Visit. Nassau, as a port city, always welcomed guests. And it didn’t matter whether the ship that docked at the quay was commanded by someone with a bounty on its head, or whether it had a Letter of Marque from the governor, and the only thing that mattered was the wealth of their chest of gold…

So, our Players, running the Tavern, at the end of each round will have the opportunity to entertain those “noble and respectable” members of the crew that has just docked at the quay. Depending on many factors (reputation, number and quality of rooms, drinks, and distance from the port), Players will compete to serve the famous captain himself, his officers, or his filthy crew. As you have probably already figured out, there are only three types of crew. So there will always be three guests, and there can be four Taverns on the map…

So what about those who are not so lucky? Well, he can always hang up posters of his Tavern in Nassau itself, so that the locals can fill his purse.

Depending on the game variant you choose, the ships of the guests can be either quite predictable or they can be ships of pirate legend, which means that the game will take on some unexpected twists…

The game is finished. Graphics, game mechanics, rules, and suddenly… a wall.

We need urgent help in naming the ships that will visit Nassau, because although Mother-in-Law’s Pantaloons sound cruel in German, we will rely on the collective imagination of the Players, i.e. you 🙂

Please suggest ship names in the comment under this post. The names can come from many languages, but they must fit the pirate theme 🙂

Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

The best ones will later be included in the game 🙂
